Internet Explorer 8 Slow? Fix It Easily
Internet Explorer 8 is probably the most used internet browser among Windows users. But, although it is one of today’s best internet browsing softwares, it has some problems. One of them is running slow over time.
Why Explorer runs slow?
This problem can be caused by a number of reasons. Here is a list of the most common reasons that cause the Internet Explorer 8 slow problem:
Full Temporary file folder
Internet Explorer 8 saves lots of information and cashed pages in a temporary folder. Cleaning this folder will speed up your browsing experience. To do that, go to the Tools menu in IE, Go to “Internet Options” and press the “Delete” button in the “Browsing History” panel. This will clear Internet Explorer temporary folder.
Heavy loading home page
If your homepage is not google, than it may take time to load. This will cause Explorer to load slower and even freeze until the page loads. In order to fix that, go to the same “Internet Options” window as before and press the “Use blank” button. This should also help IE to load faster.
Unneeded toolbars
Extra toolbars can be the main reason for Explorer 8 slow problem. Remove any unneeded toolbar in order to make it easier for IE to load and run.
Registry Problems
The registry is the place Windows saves data that is vital for it to function properly. If the registry contains errors and invalid entries, it can cause lots of problems to Windows and to all of the applications that are installed on it. Most of the time Internet Explorer 8 runs slow because of registry problems.
